Here are some extra details that are important for our customers to know about our rental vehicle services.
Contract Hires
At Maben, we offer long-term or contract rental vehicle services for those that don’t want to own and pay for the upkeep of a vehicle on a full-time basis.
For any contract hires, we can offer hire to a specific company or a single individual, making it easier to hire and swap drivers where necessary.
We also offer long-term or contract-hire customers the option to buy the vehicle outright at the end of their hire period. If you are interested, get in touch.
Driving in Europe
If you wish to hire a vehicle from us to drive outside the UK and into Europe, please get in touch to receive a quote. You can also call us on 01495 757553 (Pontypool) or 0117 450 6880 (Bristol)
Any vehicles taken outside the mainland of the United Kingdom without prior consent and the necessary documentation will be subject to the full excess charge.
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) Insurance
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is additional protection that can reduce your excess, its peace of mind cover.
A large proportion of damages and accidents are caused by third parties and a CDW can be purchased that reduces the hirers excess liability in the event of any damages that may need to be carried out on the vehicle that is being returned.
If you have a road traffic accident and fail to obtain the third-party details, the original excess amount will apply.
Cars- £12 per day to reduce your excess from £1500 to £500.
Small Caddy Vans- £14 per day to reduce your excess from £750 to £250.
SWB Vans- £14 per day to reduce your excess from £750 to £250.
LWB Vans- £15 per day to reduce your excess from £750 to £250.
ELWB Vans- £16 per day to reduce your excess from£750 to £250.
Luton Vans- £18 per day to reduce your excess from £750 to £250.
7.5 Tonne- £21.50 per day to reduce your excess from £1000 to £400.
Minibuses- £18 per day to reduce your excess from £1000 to £400.
Important Driver Requirements
Please note, as a responsible vehicle hire company, we CAN NOT accept any driver who meets the following criteria:

6 points or more on their driver's licence

Been banned from dangerous driving (DD)

Been banned from driving under the influence of excess alcohol/drugs (DR/DG)

Disqualified driver convictions (BA)

MS convictions (including motor racing on the highway and driving with defective eyesight)
All drivers must be a minimum of 25 years old. We can allow drivers aged 21-25 for vans & minibuses however this is subject to a young driver’s fee.
